While leveling the ground, I was surprised to discover a barely submerged electrical conduit in very bad condition. A little excavation revealed three more, running from the garage side to the front bedrooms. This picture shows the pipes emerging from the foundation on the garage/living room side (living room is on the right).

The pipes all ran through the planting area where the maple tree is located. They converge and go into the foundation on the other side. I decided to bring in an electrician to evaluate the situation. He determined that the pipes contained the following: the radiant heat thermostat wiring, the 220V wiring for the dryer, power to the wall outlets in all 3 front bedrooms, the second bathroom as well as my office area and kitchen, and power to the ceiling lights in the hall and second bathroom.

It is very strange that one of these pipes provided power to my office area and the kitchen outlets, which is on the other side of the house from the bedrooms. The next page shows a diagram of this.
